Do the source code and intellectual property belong to my company?
Yes, 100%. All the code developed, technical documentation, configuration files and infrastructure credentials are handed over to your company once the agreed milestones are completed. There are no hidden proprietary dependencies and no vendor lock-in.
How do contracting and invoicing work?
I usually work in two formats: 1) A fixed price per project with clear delivery milestones (e.g. 50% at the start and 50% after final approval in a test environment); or 2) A monthly retainer / dedicated weekly sprints for continuous evolution and proactive maintenance of online platforms.
Can you work alongside our in-house technical team?
Yes. I can collaborate directly in your repository (GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket), join technical planning meetings, review pull requests and help architect complex features your current team doesn't have the capacity to take on right now.
How much does a website or a project cost?
Every project is quoted individually, after a short conversation about what you need. You receive a fixed, written quote with the scope, the timeline and what is included before any work starts. If the scope changes along the way, I let you know and send a new quote before going ahead.
What is the typical timeline for an MVP or a complete project?
Most websites and first versions of platforms are ready in 2 to 6 weeks. The timeline starts once the scope is agreed and the content has been delivered (text, images, logo and any access needed). Delays in content or changes to the scope change the timeline, and I always let you know first. Along the way I make partial deliveries to a test environment, so you can follow real progress.
What happens after the production launch? Is there a warranty period?
Yes, 30 days after launch. The warranty covers free fixes of errors in what was delivered, measured against the approved acceptance criteria. It does not cover new features, changes of scope, problems caused by changes made by third parties, or hosting and external service costs. After that, I offer monthly maintenance if you want ongoing support.
Why don't you name your clients?
As a matter of principle, I do not disclose the clients I work with or their projects, out of respect for the privacy and identity of each business. That is why projects are shown without names and the images are concept illustrations. I only mention a project by name with the client's permission.
How are GDPR compliance and data security ensured?
In every project I apply these measures: a review against the OWASP Top 10 vulnerabilities, validation of every input, authentication with secure HttpOnly cookies, connections that are always encrypted (HTTPS) and collection of only the personal data that is needed, in line with the GDPR.
Which technologies do you use?
Day to day, TypeScript, React, Node.js and PostgreSQL. I also work with PHP, Java, Python, Astro, Next.js, MySQL, Docker and Cloudflare. On platforms used by several companies, I keep each customer's data separate, set up roles and permissions (RBAC), enable two-step authentication (MFA) and integrate payments with Stripe, Multibanco and MB WAY.
What if my system already exists and just has problems?
I also work on existing systems, including PHP and Java. I start with a diagnosis to find the cause of the problem and send an estimate before any intervention. Then I fix, test and hand over a summary of what changed. Urgent incidents get priority, and I can continue with monthly maintenance if it makes sense.
